The Light That Never Leaves

If you’re here… it’s not by accident.

Some stories don’t shout.
They find you.

In this first episode of Angels Connect, I share a story I’ve carried quietly for a long time — the story of a light that never leaves you, even when everything else falls away.

This isn’t about belief.
It’s about recognition.

About those moments when something inside you knows… before your mind can explain it.
When you realise you were never as alone as you thought.

This episode is an invitation — not to follow, but to remember.
To notice the quiet nudges.
To trust the unseen support that shows up exactly when it’s needed.

If you’ve ever felt watched over.
If you’ve ever sensed there was more happening than you could see.
If you’ve ever wondered why certain paths opened… or closed…

This conversation is for you.

Press play.

The light has been waiting for you to notice it.

Welcome to Angels Connect. Stories of hope and inspiration. Angels Connecting and Protecting. With your embodied Angel host, Tara Hines. I want to start by saying this quietly. If you're listening to this right now, you're not here by accident. And I'm not sharing this to convince you of anything. I'm sharing it because maybe somewhere in your body you already know what I'm about to say. And you're wondering if angels are protecting you too. So I was 16 years old, so sick I couldn't keep water down. No strength, no appetite, no sense of time. My body felt heavy, like gravity had doubled, and I was sinking into the bed instead of resting on it. I'm alone in my room. The walls are blank, still ordinary. There's nothing spiritual about this space. No candles, no music, just quiet. And underneath the quiet, there's a question I won't let myself finish. Not in words, just a feeling. What if I don't come back from this? Then something changes. Not dramatically, not all at once. A light appears in the corner of my room. It's not harsh, it's not blinding. It doesn't demand anything from me. It's inviting. The air feels different, like the room is breathing with me, like something unseen gently pulls back a veil. And then I realize I'm no longer in my body. I'm watching myself from above. I can see my body still on the bed, pale, breathing shallow, and my awareness is lifting towards the light. Inside it, there's a presence, a face, a knowing that feels ancient and familiar at the same time. And I hear words not spoken out loud, but clearly than anything I have ever heard. It's not your time yet. There's no fear in it, no urgency, just certainty. And then I'm back, back in my body, back on the bed, back in the room with the blank walls, but something is different. In the days that follow, my strength begins to return. My body heals, I get better. But the deepest healing isn't physical, it's certainty. Not the kind that argues, not the kind that needs proof, the quiet kind that settles into your bones. At 16, I know something without knowing how I know it. That there is more than what we can see. The connection exists between this world and something far greater. That support is real, present, available, and still I spend years trying to forget it. I live my life, I follow the expected paths, I stay busy, I stay practical, I stay reasonable. Every so often, that quiet inner voice rises again. Soft, patient, persistent. I feel it in my chest, in the moment's stillness, under moonlight, looking up at the stars, and more times than I can remember and count, I ignore it. Not because it isn't real, but but because I don't feel ready or worthy or enough. Because answering a call like that means allowing yourself to be supported, and that's terrifying when you've learned to survive on your own. So I minimize it, I explain it away, and I tell myself, I imagined it. And yet it never leaves. What I understand now, what I'm finally choosing fully, is this the divine never left. Not when I doubted, not when I delayed, not when I pretended not to hear. The connection didn't disappear. It waited. And the moment I stopped running from it, stopped minimizing it, stopped telling myself I was making it up. It was right there, just as it always has been. This is what I know to be true now. That quiet voice you felt, the pull you sense when you can't explain it, the feeling that there is something bigger holding you, guiding you, inviting you, you're not making it up. You're not broken for feeling it, you're not foolish for longing for it, and you're not late. You don't have to see it the way I saw it, you don't have to name it the way I named it. You only have to be willing to pause, to breathe, to ask. Because support isn't distant, it isn't reserved for the chosen or the special or the enlightened. It's present, it's listening, and it responds the moment you do. If this story stirs something in you, let it. You don't need to rush it to understand it, just notice. You are not alone, you never have been, and the light that found me years ago, it never left, and neither did yours. And coming up in the next episode, it's a crossing of a different kind, and if you're anything like me, it feels rickety right now. So if you're ignoring that soft calling from spirit, or if you feel like you're going to be judged, you love what I'm sharing in the next episode of Angels Connect. So if this story has stirred something within you, if you feel that pull inside you, make sure you're subscribed and leave me in the next show.
